There are over 700 muscles in the human body. When trauma, stress, or overuse affect a muscle, the muscle fibers become knotted. This results in muscle spasming and pain, or the inability to move.
Muscular therapy utilizes both superficial and deep muscle massage techniques to diminish pain. By massaging the affected areas, blood and oxygen are transported to the muscles. Ultimately, this starts the healing process:
- Pain and soreness are reduced
- Mobility and range of motion are increased
- Stress is reduced
- Relaxation is increased
In many cases, our patients report that their symptoms have been completely eliminated after their customized series of muscular therapy treatments.
Your therapist will rely on superficial and/or deep muscle massage according to your particular muscular issues. Feel free to let your therapist know if your condition makes you unable to tolerate any type of treatment.
